About Us
Our Story
Empowering Parents of African Children in the UK (EPACUK) was founded in November 2023 with a clear purpose: to support African immigrant families as they adjust to life in the UK and navigate systems that can often feel complex, unfamiliar, and overwhelming.
What began as a small online initiative quickly grew into a trusted community space where parents could access guidance, practical advice, and culturally informed support.
In March 2024, EPACUK formally became a Company Limited by Guarantee, reflecting our commitment to long-term community empowerment, collaborative working, and building a more inclusive and equitable landscape for African families across the UK.
Supporting African families, thrive together!
OUR VISION
Our vision is to see African parents and children thrive, feeling safe, informed, supported, and confident. We aim to equip families with the knowledge, tools, and culturally grounded support they need to navigate UK parenting expectations while honouring their identity, heritage, and values.
We are committed to early intervention, community empowerment, and anti-racist practice. By addressing challenges early, offering accessible support, and ensuring families feel truly heard, we help prevent crises, strengthen family bonds, and promote better outcomes for children and young people.
Our work centres on belonging, inclusion, and equity, ensuring parents who often face barriers—whether due to culture, language, migration, or systemic bias—can access the support they deserve.
At EPACUK we use our extensive knowledge and experience to create and co-produce bespoke projects and offer expertise through the delivery of tailored parenting support and training to support agencies working with African Families through spot purchase services. We’re open to conversations with commissioners, engagement teams, charity partners and community leaders to find ways to partner in achieving our goal of supporting African families in UK.
Partner with EPACUK today and let us help you empower African families, strengthen safeguarding practices, and ensure positive outcomes for African children. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of African families.
